The week in Android

As the curtain draws on this chilly autumnal week, it’s time to wrap up warm in those forgotten layers at the back of your wardrobe. It’s also time to wrap up the week in Android – but first, we’ll just give you a moment to let the seamlessness of that link sink in.
Ready? Okay. Let’s have a look at what’s been reviewed and in the news this week.
Little Galaxy
Little Galaxy is a planet hopping platformer inspired by the ‘real story’ of a young scientist in an intergalactic property hunt. It’s like Location, Location, Location in space.
The X Factor UK
The new official X Factor app lets you be the ‘fifth judge’ – so as well as cheering along and shouting abuse at the screen, you can use the app to cast your judgement and watch the reaction online.
Despite boasting over a million apps through the Google Play store, Android is still sorely lacking when it comes to productivity tools. SimpleNote won’t be the most exciting thing you’ll download, but it may be one of the most useful.
Totem Runner
Is it a bird? Is it a rhino? No, it’s Totem Runner – a new endless running game for Android that lets you transform into a mighty eagle or a rampaging rhino.
Kogan launches reasonably priced 5?inch smartphone
Kogan has launched a high-power Android smartphone, looking to provide a cheaper alternative to the colossal market leaders Apple and Samsung.
Nokia tested Android on Lumia phones
Android Lumia has a nice ring to it, and was very nearly a reality. It turns out Nokia tested its Lumia phones on Android before partnering with Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

Ordnance Survey has released its OS MapFinder app for Android, helping to guide walkers, runners, ramblers and cyclists around Great Britain’s great outdoors.
