BlackBerry Announces BlackBerry Z3 for Indonesia

BlackBerry today announced the BlackBerry Z3 smartphone, a new all-touch BlackBerry 10 smartphone designed with Indonesian customers in mind. Made for the next generation of BlackBerry customers in Indonesia, and customized with local apps and content, the stylish new BlackBerry Z3 smartphone features a modern design with a 5" display, long lasting battery and comes with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1. Here's more info:
The new BlackBerry Z3 smartphone is customized with access to local apps and Indonesian content and comes with the latest BlackBerry 10 OS, version 10.2.1, that will make the things you do every day faster and easier. Key features include:

. BlackBerry Hub - The ever present BlackBerry Hub lets you access all your work and personal email, BBM, text messages, social media updates and notifications in one place, with the ability to "peek" into the BlackBerry Hub from anywhere, so you're always only one swipe away from what matters to you. The Hub can be customized to identify priority messages and to filter the message list by various criteria that you can then activate with a simple pinch gesture.

. BBM - BBM on the BlackBerry Z3 smartphone includes all the latest features of the popular mobile social network, customized for Indonesians. You get BBM voice and video chatting with Screen Share and support for BlackBerry Natural Sound, letting you hear nuances and variations in tone in a BBM Voice chat, and making the conversation sound like you're in the same room. BBM Channels features a variety of Indonesian channels as well as a package of BBM stickers that have been specially designed by an Indonesian artist.

. BlackBerry Keyboard - The BlackBerry Keyboard learns what words you use and how you use them, then offers them up to you so you can type faster and more accurately. It gives you the best Bahasa Indonesia typing experience on a touchscreen, complete with multi-language support that lets you type in up to 3 different languages at the same time.

. Time Shift & Story Maker - The BlackBerry Z3 smartphone's astonishing Time Shift camera feature lets you capture a group shot where everyone is smiling with their eyes wide open. You can also use Story Maker to bring a collection of photos and videos together, along with music and effects, to produce an HD movie that you can instantly share on YouTube.

. BlackBerry 10 Browser - The BlackBerry 10 browser sets the industry benchmark for HTML5 performance on smartphones, and is incredibly fast, with fluid and responsive scrolling and zooming. The browser includes many advanced features, supports multiple tabs, lets you browse sites privately, includes a reader mode, and integrates with the platform for easily sharing content. You can even save web pages for later viewing.

. Instant Previews & Reply Now - Be more timely and responsive with Instant Previews that bring BBM, SMS and email message to you no matter what you are doing on your BlackBerry Z3 smartphone. You can even reply to your BBM or SMS messages in any app, or swipe to the BlackBerry Hub to respond. If you get a phone call that you can't answer right way, you can instantly silence the call and send a Reply Now response through BBM, SMS or email to let the caller know you're busy.

. Fast, Easy Sharing - The BlackBerry Z3 smartphone learns how you share and who you share with, helping you reduce the number of steps and amount of time it takes to get your files, photos, or documents to where they need to go. Touching "share" in any app provides suggestions on who and how to share your files based on who you've shared with in the past, and the feature only gets smarter the more you use it.

. FM Radio - The new BlackBerry Z3 includes a built-in FM radio. You can listen to local FM stations, which does not require any network connection.

The new BlackBerry Z3 smartphone is expected to be available from leading carriers and retailers in Indonesia in April. For more information about BlackBerry 10, visit www.blackberry.com/blackberryz3

Samsung Announces KNOX 2.0 for Enterprise Mobility

Samsung today announced KNOX 2.0, the evolution of KNOX, the company's end-to-end secure mobile platform solution designed to provide advanced data and privacy protection for enterprise users. The new features better support IT departments looking for reassurance and convenience as they implement and manage their Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) strategies. Here's more info on how KNOX makes the most secure Android platform for the enterprise:
Since October 2013 when KNOX was first commercially available in the market, Samsung has sold over 25 million KNOX-enabled devices and has over 1 million active KNOX users today. On average, 210,000 KNOX-enabled devices are being activated per month which is about 7,000 devices each day.

KNOX 2.0 offers a series of core platform security improvements to better protect device integrity from kernel to apps for a more secure, integrated mobile experience. These upgraded features include:

* TrustZone-Protected Certificate Management: Device-wide feature that generates and maintains client certificates
inside Trustzone with additional support for industry standards such as PKCS#11 (Cryptographic Token Interface Standard); allows mobile devices to play the
role of the smart card and its readers.
* KNOX Key Store: Generates and maintains encryption keys inside the TrustZone protected environment; allows third
parties to utilize encryption for security sensitive applications and makes sure that encrypted data is protected if the
system is compromised
* Real-Time Protection for System Integrity: Real-time monitoring that both detects and prevents any unauthorized
modifications to the kernel code, critical kernel data and system partition
* TrustZone-Protected ODE: Encrypts the data stored in the device through the TrustZone-protected encryption key, which
can be disabled at the detection of system integrity compromise.
* Two-factor Biometric Authentication: Makes container access even more secure by requiring both password and
fingerprint verification to authenticate
* Enhanced Generic Framework of KNOX: Supports Per-App VPN functions for SSL VPN solutions such as Juniper, F5
and Cisco while previously supporting them only for IPsec VPN.

Improved User Experience
KNOX 2.0 provides users with enhanced container features such as support for most of Android apps from the Google Play Store, meaning there is no need to go through the wrapping process for third party apps. KNOX 2.0 also supports SE Android policy configurations for third party containers, such as Good's secure container, Fixmo's SafeZone, MobileIron's AppConnect so that these 3rd party containers will receive the same level of HW-based protection as the KNOX container receives. This evolution of KNOX allows for the choice of different types of containers for a more flexible approach to enterprise BYOD strategies. Besides, UMC and SEG make user enrollment process simpler than before since the user profile is pre-registered to SEG by MDM servers.

KNOX 2.0 supports a dual APN capability that can be used to charge the data traffic usage of enterprise applications from that of personal applications. By assigning a different APN to the data traffic of the enterprise container which runs only enterprise approved applications. From that to the personal data traffic, KNOX can allow a telecom carrier to separately bill customers for personal and enterprise uses. This capability removes one of the most critical industry-wide impediments to the adoption of the BYOD programs which allows employees to use their personal mobile devices for work.

Expanding Ecosystem
In addition to the core features of KNOX, Samsung also announced new cloud based services, KNOX EMM and KNOX Marketplace, broadening the KNOX customer base by catering specifically to SMBs.
Samsung is providing the following services with KNOX:

* EMM: Provides cloud-based Mobile Device Management and Identity and Access Management
(SSO + Directory service) with a rich set of IT policies to implement company guidelines. KNOX EMM includes:
o Over 326 IT policies
o Single sign-on for web-based and mobile apps
o Cloud directory service as well as on-premise active directory to manage credential information
o Cloud-based enterprise services including productivity enhancement suites CRM and ERP
* Marketplace: A one stop shop for SMBs to find, buy and use KNOX and enterprise cloud apps in a unified environment and includes:
o A comprehensive catalogue of business applications including KNOX and 140+ cloud apps
o Customizable bundling for customers to buy multiple apps in a custom bundle
o Consolidated billing to allow customers to combine multiple products into a single invoice

The key feature of KNOX EMM and Marketplace is that all the services purchased from the marketplace come with the zero-sign capability implemented by KNOX EMM. IT Admin can easily supervise employee access rights to the purchased services according to the credentials defined in the directory and employees can access these services from mobile devices and PCs without an explicit registration and sign-in process.

Samsung has also expanded its partner ecosystem. Some of our new partnerships include:
* KNOX now supports SE Android policy configurations for third party containers such as Good's secure container,
Fixmo's SafeZone, MobileIron's AppConnect which provide better policy control compared to the Native SE for Android,
allowing users or IT managers to choose their preferred container.
* By partnering with Microsoft, KNOX allows users to join their devices with their company to access company resources
and services with Microsoft Workplace Join.
* The new split-billing feature that separately calculates bills for personal and enterprise apps works by partnering with
carriers like 3 Hong Kong Telecommunications.

New features of KNOX 2.0 will be commercially available in Q2 2014. Once available, previous generation KNOX users will be able to upgrade to KNOX 2.0 after upgrading to KitKat. KNOX 2.0 will also come pre-installed on the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S5.

Pinterest Announces Unlimited Secret Boards

By Ann-Marie Alcántara2014-02-28 15:41:58 -0400
Pinterest announced Friday that users can now have an unlimited amount of secret boards.
Previously, a user could only have six secret boards. But users loved the feature so much that the company finally gave in to the frequent requests for an unlimited option.
“While people are increasingly using secret boards to pin, they’re also continuing to be active with public boards,” a Pinterest spokesperson told Mashable
.
First unveiled in 2012, Pinterest secret boards allowed a user to have three secret boards in order to hide their secret events or surprise parties from friends and family. In November, Pinterest increased the number of secret boards to six.
Part of the allure of secret boards is that they can be used by one person or as part of a collaborative effort. A user can invite their family and friends to see the secret board, and then continue to plan the event in secret along with the invited group members.
In a message on its official blog the company stated, “With unlimited secret boards, there’s no limit to the number of ways for you to plan, contemplate, practice and explore all the things you want to do. Go ahead, keep it a secret.”
This update is the latest in a series of new features the company has announced in recent weeks, such as supporting GIFs and introducing its Place Pins feature to the iPad.
